ABOUT THE MASTERCLASS: Led by Janet Danielson (Music Instructor of Music at Simon Fraser University), each participant hears a professional reading of their piece by Tiresias and receives feedback from the performers and other participants in a casual discussion.
Who can submit a score?
We welcome submissions from composers of all levels of experience. Although typically applicants are from the secondary school to university level, we encourage any and all interested students to apply!
What do I need to submit?
A score for a short piece (about 3 to 8 minutes) for one or combination of following two instruments: flute; piano.
What is Vancouver Pro Musica?
Vancouver Pro Musica is an organization run collectively by and for BC composers. The Composer Master Class is part of our long-standing commitment to encourage and mentor young composers.
How to Submit: Application Guidelines
* Applicants must be residents of
* Applications must be sent with a copy of the application form DOWNLOAD FORM HERE.
* Applications should be sent by mail to the address given below, and must be received on or before March 1st, 2010. No submission will be accepted for consideration after that date.
* Applications must include the score of the submitted work and may include cassette tapes, CDs, VHS tapes, or other supporting material.
* Applications must include: the composer’s name; address (with postal code); academic affiliation (if applicable); telephone number and e-mail address, if available; application fee of $10 (free for secondary school students) and please make your cheque or money order payable to the Vancouver Pro Musica Society; two copies of the score, one set of parts, and any desired supporting material.
* The submission of an application implies agreement to attend the master class.
